Dear Valued YMCA Member,

We are excited to share updates with you as we move into Phase 3 of Restore Illinois. For the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA it means that we will now be allowed to hold outdoor group exercise classes and 1-on-1 Personal Training beginning June 1st!
Classes are limited to 9 participants, and advanced registration is required. You can sign up for classes through the App Studio Bookings. Once you download the app, search for Sterling-Rock Falls YMCA, create an account and start signing up for classes! You can also register and sign up through this link:…/classes.html
A few things to note:
-Classes are only available to active Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA members. If you take classes, your monthly membership will be drafted. There is no need to contact us, we will take care of this for you.
-We are not able to allow nationwide members or non-member drop ins
-Masks are not required for outdoor classes
-We ask that participants bring their own yoga mats if they have them, along with water bottles
-Classes are limited to 9 participants due to Illinois safety regulations
-Because class sizes are limited we ask that you be courteous and only sign up for one class per day and give notice if you are not able to make a class
-There will not be entry into the facility, so Wee Care will not be available
-Classes are available for YMCA members ages 9+
-You can sign up for classes up to 5 days out
-You do not need to pre-sign up for the Zoom classes. In order to take the Zoom classes, you need to be an active YMCA member.
Active Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA members will now be able to work with our trainers! If you already have purchased a Personal Training package, our trainers will be reaching out to you. However, if you do not have a package, but are anxious to get back into to the YMCA you can purchase a PT package here!
Personal Training will be allowed in the facility while wearing a mask or outdoors without a mask. Our staff are all trained and will limit contact with clients as well as ensure that all of the equipment is cleaned and sanitized. If you have questions about Personal Training packages, contact Ashley at [email protected]
At the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA, everything we do is guided by our commitment to support our community, and this is even more critical now. When you belong to the Y, you are not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you are a member of an organization dedicated to strengthening community.
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU – We understand that you have other immediate financial obligations, and we are waiving your June membership dues. No action is required on your part. However, if you are able, we ask that you consider allowing your membership fee to be drafted in June so that we may remain fully focused on our efforts to help our community stay strong in spirit, mind and body. If you would like to allow your June draft to proceed, contact us at [email protected] or call 815-535-3865.
As we plan ahead for the reopening our facilities, our number one goal is to provide a safe environment for you, your family and our YMCA staff. When we reopen the Y, we will be following the governor’s mandates, procedures outlined by the Center for Disease Control, the Y-USA and the Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc.
While we are unable to provide an exact opening date at this time, the temporary precautionary measures we will take include a combination of the following:
•  Adjusted hours of operation
•  Social distancing requirements
• Limits on total number of members and amount of time allowed in the facility
• Screened check-in procedures
•  Requirement of wearing masks or face coverings
•  Directed traffic flow
•  Closed aquatics area
•  Closed showers
•  Outdoor group exercise and personal training
•  Limits on number of participants in group exercise classes and limited live classes
•   A coordinated cleaning approach that involves staff and members
•   Temporarily removing all tables and chairs to prevent gathering
•   Temporarily suspending all non-member and day pass usage
While this is not a complete list, we want to keep you updated with factual information and ideas on what to expect. We will continue to learn from other YMCAs around the country that have been allowed to reopen to ensure that we have all of the necessary safety precautions in place.
Last week we made the difficult decision to cancel our Summer 2020 Camp session at YMCA Camp Benson. We are working diligently on making decisions surrounding our Summer Day Camp program. Any updates and new information will be provided to you through email, website, Facebook and also through your member newsletters.
We truly look forward to seeing you very soon!
