The Counselor-in-Training Program teaches teens the job skills necessary to be a counselor and strong employee.

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is an all summer long intensive, hands-on training experience that gives teens valuable insight into the role of a camp counselor.

Our CIT program is designed to offer qualified young people an opportunity to prepare for positions as camp counselors or recreation leaders.

Guided by an experienced CIT Program Coordinator, CITs will develop their decision-making and problem-solving skills by assisting with daily activities and camper care.

They will work with various camp groups, allowing them to experience a wide variety of opportunities throughout the summer. CITs will participate in leadership workshops and trainings throughout the summer. This program is limited to 15 participants and open to Middle Schoolers.

Meet the CIT Program Leader Anna Mohr!

My name is Miss Mohr, I am 23 years old, and I am a current student at Illinois State University studying Middle Level Education for Math and Science!  I have been working with middle school aged young adolescents for the last 4 years and have loved every second of it!  I am incredibly passionate about all things outdoors and guiding our next generation of leaders!  My personal mission statement requires that I provide an environment that is inclusive, safe, and equitable for all young adolescents regardless of their background.  I am very excited to be leading this program and hope to create a memorable program that will benefit your young adolescent for years to come!
