CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Group Fitness

 

BARRE: Barre is a dynamic, energizing class that integrates the ballet barre, weighted balls, resistance bands and other equipment to provide a full body stretch and strength workout.

 

BOOTCAMP: Bootcamp is the combination of a team atmosphere AND intense full-body cardio and strength workouts. Class meets outdoors.

 

GET FIT: A great way to start your day – stretching, toning, cardio intermixed together.  We strive to work on all parts of the body each class.  Steps, weights, balls and bands used.

 

GOLDEN DRUMMERS: Low impact drumming class that uses yoga balls and drum sticks to make music! Get in a low impact cardio workout while having fun!

 

POUND ROCKOUT WORKOUT: POUND is a full-body cardio jam session with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, and isometric movements so you can drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique.

 

POWER PUMP: Power Pump is a barbell workout that incorporates functional orthopedic strength training. Every movement plane is attacked using weights and body weight.

 

SILVERSNEAKERS®: Designed for our senior population!  Exercises help with strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, balance, coordination, and agility. A chair is provided if needed.

 

TRX (Premium Class*): TRX is a total body resistance exercise that uses a suspension training system, making it possible to use your body weight and gravity for an effective workout. Participants can customize the difficulty of their workout by making simple adjustments to the TRX system. *Premium Classes require pre-registration and an additional fee.

 

WERQ: WERQ is the wildly addictive cardio dance class based on the hottest pop and hip hop music. The workout is nonstop with repetitive athletic moves and fresh dance steps, so you get the best sweat.

 

#YNOT45: This class has it all; running, plyometrics, and strength training! Held in the gym this class promotes taking 45 minutes out of your day to get in a good solid workout.


 

Thinking about taking a Group Fitness class for the first time?

 

Beginners are always welcome! You may start a class at any time–no need to wait for a new session!

Remember to do what your body is comfortable with–it’s completely fine to modify movements!!

All Group Fitness classes are included in your YMCA membership–so there’s no risk in trying them all!!!
