Meet Aliah!
Hi, I’m Aliah and for the past three years I have been proud to be a part of the YMCA Team! As a single mother, finding a workplace that truly understood the importance of family has been life changing. The incredible employees and management have supported me every step of the way, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally while raising my daughter.Â
Throughout my time at the YMCA i have had the opportunity to work in child care, as a lifeguard, at summer day camp and occasionally at the front desk. Each role has helped me build new skills, confidence and meaningful relationships with this community.Â
The YMCA has been more than just my workplace. It has become a second home for both my daughter and me. I have been able to enjoy the gym, connect with members and receive unwavering support from the YMCA team. Watching my daughter grow up surrounded by caring mentors and a positive environment has been one of the greatest blessing.Â
The YMCA has helped shape me into the person and mother I am today. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, encouragement and sense of belonging it has give our family. I look forward to continuing to grow, serving my community and making a positive impact on the lives of others!Â

Meet Cheyenne!
Hi, I’m Cheyenne! I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. I have worked as a daycare teacher for the past five years where I learned the value of patience, teamwork, and bringing a little positivity to every day. I recently started an exciting new chapter after moving in with my boyfriend. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow both personally and professionally! The YMCA brings such a positive and fun environment which is why I love working here.Â
Outside of work, I love spending time with my boyfriend and our two cats, being outdoors whenever I can, and playing games with friends and family. I enjoy learning and trying new things, and believe that kindness, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor can make every day a little brighter.

Meet Ashley!
Hi, I’m Ashley! I am a junior at Loyola University in Chicago where I am studying to become an elementary school teacher. I have been working with children for the past six years and am passionate about creating fun, engaging and positive experiences for kids.
This is my first year working at the YMCA and I have loved being a part of such a welcoming community. You might have seen me on the field coaching during NLF Flag Football or supervising during the YMCA’s Summer Day Camp Program! I enjoy helping children build confidence, make new friends and have fun in safe and supportive environments!
